Exactly what it says on the tin: my debut as Midifuture. The song featured is "The Funniest Man Alive", which is one I'd been writing for about a month and a half or so before this recording. Inspiration for it can be traced back to as far as Warbler Project, though.

During the show, I forgot a fair portion of the lyrics, so I had to improvise using a mixture of off-the-cuff stuff and ideas I'd thrown around while rehearsing. There are definitely areas in which I could have practiced more beforehand (the more I listen, the more I hear the flaws), but the sheer exuberance I had for an opportunity to perform anything live music-wise for the first time in five-and-a-half years overrode that almost completely. (I don't count anything from The Jolly Warblers as being a "live performance" in the traditional sense.)

The first version is digitally mastered and evens out the EQ a bit. The second version is one of the original, unedited recordings.
